Intersecting Minds: Education, Business and Technology at the North Carolina State Jenkins Graduate School of Management

Monday Morning Quick Hits | February 9, 2009

Monday’s are brutal for me in terms of available time, and this Monday is worse than others because I have a lunch meeting with a group of prospective students at noon, but here are some quick hits this morning:

McDonalds announced growth of 7% in January on the strength of its dollar menu.

Nissan is slashing 20,000 jobs in an effort to cut costs.

The Obama administration is delaying an announcement of their plan to revive the financial sector until tomorrow in order to focus on the bail-out.

GM and Chrysler are facing bankruptcy in order to assure repayment of their bailout money.

And the stock market is down slightly this morning amidst delays on the bailout package.
